Plan the room layout you need in a home

Write down how each room will be used before choosing a BHK. Note the furniture you need to fit, storage needs and space for moving around. During a visit, compare the actual layout with this list instead of deciding from the bedroom count alone.

Before you speak to us

  1. Tell us what you need

Keep your area, budget and must-haves ready.

  2. Ask your questions

Write down what still needs checking.

  3. Discuss the next step

Decide what to check before going ahead.

What does each room need to do?

Start with the people who will use the home every day. A bedroom may need space for a cot, a wardrobe and a study table. A spare room might be for parents, guests or work, and those needs may happen together.

Sketch a simple room list. Mark which uses need a separate room and which can share space comfortably. Tell our team if a room must stay available throughout the day, rather than being used only for occasional visits.

  • Sleeping and study needs
  • Furniture you intend to keep
  • Storage and daily movement

What should you measure during a visit?

Carry the dimensions of important furniture, such as a cot, sofa or dining table. Ask to check the room dimensions and the positions of doors and windows. Leave measurements pending if you have not been able to confirm them.

Look at how a door opens, where a wardrobe would stand and whether people can move past the furniture. Ask permission before measuring or taking photographs. Keep your own room notes separate from any quoted overall property size.

How should you compare different layouts?

Use the same room list for every home. Note a specific problem, such as no suitable place for a desk, rather than writing only that a room feels small. Record which change you could manage and which would stop you going ahead.

Discuss these points with everyone who will stay there before changing the BHK requirement. Share the updated layout needs with our team, including any furniture you are willing to replace. This keeps the next discussion focused on how you will use the home.
