Separate your buying plan from your moving date

Keep the date you would like to move separate from the steps needed before a purchase can go ahead. Tell our team about any fixed personal deadline and your temporary arrangements. A target date helps the discussion, but it does not confirm the completion or access date for a property.

Before you speak to us

  1. Tell us what you need

Keep your area, budget and must-haves ready.

  2. Ask your questions

Write down what still needs checking.

  3. Discuss the next step

Decide what to check before going ahead.

Which dates are fixed for your household?

List dates connected to work, school, travel or leaving your present home. Mark a date as essential only if you cannot move it. Share the practical consequence of missing it so that our team understands the reason for the requirement.

Keep a separate note for the date you would prefer to settle into the new home. Being able to attend visits or discuss an offer is different from being able to move. Do not combine these into one date when explaining your situation.

What still needs to happen before moving?

Ask which steps are pending for the particular property, who is handling them and when you can expect the next update. Record a proposed date as proposed until the relevant people confirm it.

If you want work done before moving, discuss access and timing separately. Do not arrange a move or send people to the property on the strength of an enquiry alone. Confirm the practical arrangements with the people responsible for the home.

What is your backup if dates change?

Think about where you would stay and where your belongings would go if the preferred dates do not line up. Discuss which arrangements you can change without losing the main purpose of your move.

Keep our team informed when a fixed date or a pending step changes. Use a simple sequence of the next action, the person responsible and the next update. This makes the discussion clearer without treating a provisional buying plan as a promised moving schedule.
