What to check during a rental property visit
Take your requirement list to the property visit. Check the rooms, access, parking and included items against what you need. Ask about rent, advance, maintenance and the move-in date. Write down anything still unclear instead of treating the visit as confirmation of every detail.

What should you keep ready before the visit?
Keep the meeting point, contact person and visit time clear. Carry a short list of your BHK, furnishing, parking and access needs. Tell the person arranging the visit if your plans change.
Ask whether everyone who needs to see the home can attend. Do not share identity papers or unrelated personal details just to make a visit checklist.
- Confirmed time and meeting point.
- Your must-have list.
- Questions for the owner.
What should you see at the property?
See the rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and any included parking or outdoor space. Think about daily use and where your furniture will fit. Ask to see areas that were not open.
Check what furniture or appliances will remain. Note visible concerns and ask for clarification. A normal property visit does not replace a technical inspection or a separate document check.
- Rooms and access you have seen.
- Parking and included items.
- Questions needing further checks.
What should you do after the visit?
Compare your notes with your requirement. List what suits you, what does not and what still needs an answer. Keep a request separate from something the owner has agreed to.
Before deciding, clarify the rent, advance, maintenance, notice period and ready date. Tell us which points you want to discuss next. A visit does not reserve the home.
- What suits your requirement.
- Answers still pending.
- The next discussion needed.
