Plan a sale alongside your next home requirement
Explain that your sale and next-home plans are connected, then list the decisions and dates for each separately. Tell our team which step depends on another and what temporary arrangement you can manage. Do not treat interest in your property as a confirmed date for your next move.
Before you speak to us
- Tell us what you need
Keep your area, budget and must-haves ready.
- Ask your questions
Write down what still needs checking.
- Discuss the next step
Decide what to check before going ahead.
What depends on the sale?
Write down which decisions about the next home depend on your sale progressing. It may be the budget you are ready to discuss, the moving date or whether you need a temporary rental. Keep a preference separate from a fixed personal constraint.
Describe both requirements clearly rather than combining them into one deadline. Our team needs to understand the property you want to sell as well as the home you would like next. A change in one requirement may need a fresh discussion about the other.
Which dates should stay provisional?
Record proposed visit dates, response dates and moving dates under separate headings. Ask who can confirm each one and what is still pending. Avoid booking a move around a proposal that has not reached a confirmed practical arrangement.
If another household is involved, ask what access and occupancy timing they are proposing. Keep their proposed date separate from the date that works for you. A conversation about matching dates is useful, but it does not remove the remaining steps on either side.
What should your backup plan cover?
Think about where you would stay and keep belongings if the dates do not line up. Ask the relevant people for the actual arrangements and costs instead of filling gaps with a general estimate.
Update our team when a proposal, family commitment or moving option changes. Keep one current sequence of decisions so that everyone knows which answer is needed next. This helps you discuss connected requirements without presenting either transaction as completed before it is.
What to do now
Call with both requirements, their main dependencies and the moving arrangement you need to discuss.
